In a nutshell- Cousin Corrado took us all over Lake Como, including to the castle where they filmed Casino Royale, and George Clooney's place! He took us up the mountain side. We always thought that we were at the top, but then we went higher! We went for a walk around the area. We went down to S. Segmente for an expresso and then up into the hills. We also went to Lugano Lido where Corrado works in Switzerland for a fun day of swimming. The ...

... We wander around checking out all the menus and quickly conclude we should be here without the boys. Between the wine bars and craft beer places, a return visit may be on the cards. We eventually find a restaurant which suits and it's delicious. Now we had some wet marbles to round up too. Tomorrow ...

... baking all day just for you. So delicious! There was a table next to us with 4 children and a young man - like an uncle - who was taking them to dinner. The kids were between 9-11 and so animated and cute at the table. The server would come around with a big platter on a rolling tray cart that also had several plates. She served them each dish family style. It was fun to watch. When we were waiting for the taxi, I struck up a conversation with the kids ...

    For whom the hell tolls

... perused the scene and disappeared in a red flash...and a possible 200. Panic and pandemonium would be the best way to describe our attempts at negotiating the toll booths however. Firstly we managed to temporarily misplace the ticket needed to work out our toll and then secondly we got stuck in toll booth limbo at the wrong type of ticketing booth. This could prove retrospectively quite costly but these were the least of our thoughts at the time as ...
