Now at Éauze (pronounced in 2 syllables - even the French not from these parts get corrected!). Had a beautiful walk here today, 17 kms, and we are now in vineyard country, and otherwise walking through shaded tree tunnel paths.... The last 7 kms or so was a former rail track so was delightfully flat and straight and shaded. We have a different routine here ...

Had breakfast in the house of our slightly eccentric woman - very good home made bread and jams (the jams everywhere are always home made, and many varieties) and good coffee. The wifi there was difficult as the stone walls of our bedroom were so thick that there was no reception and we had to be outside in the garden - which was OK in the afternoon, but not at night or the dewy morning! Left at about 9 ...
We set off fairly leisurely this morning, partly because it was 19 kms (20 actually) and also as tonight is a Chambres d'Hôte and we know they usually don't want you before 3. There was a fog all over in the morning, and we were so lucky that this was today, as we had yesterday clear and beautiful to admire Lectoure and the surrounding views, and also the day before as we arrived.
