Sweatin' it up at Guachimontones
... are believed to have worhsipped the wind. For them, wind was necessary for the land to be fertile and for crops to grow. Their temples/altars were round as were the patios around the altars/montones. And the platforms that surrounded the patio were also in a circle. This is because the circle was like the movement of the wind and the fluidity of life.
Anyway, the montones (the circle structures/mounds you will see in my pictures) are rather unusual. ...
Globos
... and a band which is tradition at any Mexican event. They started around 3:00 with small experimental balloons but the largest ones were not inflated until about 6:00. We arrived home around 7:30 and could see Globos from our upstairs patio until around 9:00. It was gorgeous day and beautiful sunset filled with these works of art flaming into the evening sky.
