... and talked about their special ham, which is salted and hung to dry for up to 18 mths on the bone. the pigs are especially bred and fed exclusively on acorns (from all the holm oaks?) The Carrefour had a wonderful display of hams - the Jamon Iberico de Extramadura was 165e for a whole ham!!!! No wonder ...

... so we could see special birds.
The cliff opposite the Mirador viewing point was covered with nesting and roosting Griffon Vultures and the air was full of them too.


With help we saw - Griffon vultures, Black vultures, Black Storks with babies, a Peregrine Falcon, a Blue Rock Thrush, ...

Holm oaks and snowy mountains.

... things were back on track as the breakfast fluids had been replenished and we had even managed to sort out the time on Steves's stopwatch. ... nice hot shower in luxurious bathroom ,wandered down to garden terrace with it's views and fabulous rose gardens and were presented with bottle of local wine and nibbles. Watched the sun go down, at 9 o'clock moved inside (getting a bit chilly) and were served a sumptuous dinner. Only one other couple staying so we were treated like royalty. What a change from Grazalema! Don't get me wrong we loved the village of Grazalema but this is a welcome change.
