Bus 71, every 30 minutes to Dina Huapi, sounds simple right? Not so much. I am completely lost in a city I thought was becoming comfortable. Was suppose to catch the bus at noon, missed it, went to a stop "I thought" was right, missed the 12:30. Finally after walking around the city, I make it to the right bus stop, catch the one o' clock bus and I am only an hour and a half late. By the time I get to Karen ...
Dina Huapi, Río Negro, Argentina flutterby7011... self but Ror said we should still go to a look out point which was voted in the top 10 views in the world by national geographic as we wouldnt have time the next day so we jumped on the next bus to bring us to Campanero. We had to get a chair lift up to the top or you could hike for 30 mins (in the rain no thanks so chair lift it was!) We have never been on skiing holiday before so have never experienced ski lifts and I would imagine the chair ...
San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina sharor... to test Angelaīs leg. Unfortunately the steep ascent proved to be too much for the carīs legs, and after burning some rubber trying to get the steep road up, we abandoned the attempt. Villa Traful itself is a lovely little village, where we indulged in another chocolaterie with a large selection of homemade chocolates, that locals were buying in box-loads (Easter preparation). We got another look at the beautiful Lake Traful from the villages nearby dock. We contiued driving ...
Bariloche, Argentina atullgupta... Santa Cruz, Ca). We flew through a bunch of material in the first day. After class the activity for the day was a city tour. After lunch a decent group met back up and walked around the city with Nico as our tour guide. He did the tour in both Castellano (Spanish) and English. We finished at Tourista a chocolate factory/shop in town. I went back to the school to get my family stay ...
Bariloche, Argentina gpalecekI made it back to Bariloche pasa fin de semana. I once again stayed in Pudu the place with the drunken Irishmen. I got two great nights sleep. I also partook in a great asado. I have been sort of taking a vacation from running around with my head chopped off. Actually i found Breaking Dawn (Twilight series) the fourth book and have been reading it pretty intensely. I ...
Bariloche, Argentina gpalecek... of paved and unpaved roads, the Lake District of northern Patagonia is accessible to anyone who wants to enjoy this beautiful landscape! We prefer to see a small region in depth, so we planned sixteen nights in the Lakes District. We are hikers, not too big on car-based siteseeing, and we like nice lodging with good food and wine. We were looking for a relaxing time to ...
Bariloche, Argentina journeyer... back the tour guide took a detour to the Ski centre, Catedral where it became obvious that there was very little snow, we had a chat to the locals who told us the opening date had been delayed by a week. Ooops 3 -4 days wasted!! Wasted may not be the right phrase as Bariloche is an excellent town and its been nice just taking the foot of the gas for a bit and taking it easy. With all this time to ...
San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina pbush68... up one arm. Should they fall off, the last thought that would go through their brains (even as they were being dashed across the pavement) is that at least their left elbow would be safe. Driving in Bariloche was fun. The other drivers were of the BA style, with some embellishments. I first got the idea that this ...
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina jorienenferry... the next phase, in which we are going to make a travel plan and explore this wonderful country right down to itīs southern point. I wish everybody a very happy new year, and I hope that you still enjoy reading these weblogs (I even got some comments from people that I donīt know that are reading my stories and are really enjoying them, saying they are very honest and give a true perspective on the countries I visit - so that was a compliment!!). See you all (relatively) soon, Hugs and kisses, Laura
