    ... that I will not be renewing this year. Whilst our running costs have gone up – food, power and taxes –we no longer have much in the way of major works to complete, so the pressure is off. We are both glad. With Stefan approaching 60 and me heading that way, we could do with a break really, so the financial pressure relaxing may give us a chance to enjoy where we live a bit more.

    Whilst friends enjoy the first day opening of some resorts in the Alps and Americans struggle to get out of their homes, I am walking each day in shirt-sleeves and temperatures of 21 degrees.
