A date palm takes 28 years from an off shoot to be commercial, but will produce for 200 years, however due to health and safety regulations they don't allow them to get over 60 ft - it's apparently OK to fall from 59ft. They dig them up then and sell them for $2600-$3000 to ...

When you arrive in LA I find it easier to jump in the hire car and drive direct to Palm Springs, it is freeway direct from LAX to Palm Springs. There is reasonably priced accommodation and not as fast paced as LA. You can get your shopping out of the way then continue on in your travels. After a few ...

... watched and heads full of
dog fight stories we headed out for our last night in Gary before we
headed to LA. We decided as it was supposed to be dry we'd head back
to the hotsprings and just chill.

And chill is just what we did - we chilled our proverbials off! A combination of thin summer blankets which were wet (what Gary leaks?) and freezing temperatures saw us heading very early doors to the metropolis of LA!
