PALM DESERT, CA

... Happy Hour started that evening at 4:00 at the pool and we met a few interesting people and the happy hour hosts, who live locally.  Well, must I say the margaritas were very good.  After a nice swim and dinner, we took Maggie May to the doggie park in the resort and she made friends with Ollie, a lab mix who was also visiting.  I went to check out the Aqua Clientele casino up the road a bit, while Gerry took a nap and then utilized the "state of the art" ...

... for the next two weeks.

The next morning the gang (Kev, Erin, S & M) picked up our blue ford escape hire car (which we named Benjamin) and set off for Palm Springs. The Coachella music and arts festival was once again being held there. Kev has wanted to go for a number of years and we were finally going to fulfil that dream. We made a few quick stops including lunch at Taco Bell (we had never tried it before, okay, but certainly not rushing back). We did ...

... which it hadn't done in Cusco. Possibly it was because I'd been sick, but I struggled badly. After taking enough photos, we went back down the mountain to the tourist bureau to ask what they recommended.

Unfortunately, the only thing the girl there seemed to think was ideal was the dumb casino, so we took off in the direction of the Indian Canyons instead. When we arrived, we walked in realizing it was again another place for those serious hikers so I ended up taking photos of ...
