... everywhere you look -- from the medieval, cobble-stoned streets, the chiesas (churches) and castles, ceramics and arts, to the mountains and sea!

Food, conference, accommodation all included in my 500Euros registration for the week. The food was a pleasant surprise -- each one a two-course meal of local cuisine with different restaurants. I love seafood and there's no shortage in Sicily!

... the sign, so inevitably a parking "assistant" came to help, but as his English equalled our Italian it was down to interpreting the sign language. We think....that between 12.00 and 16.00 you could park for free. Left the car anyway. Came out through the fish market, always a bit of an eye opener!

I knew it would be cold out on the water but I regretted not taking my jacket (only had a cardigan) and regretted wearing sandals instead of boots. I had expected a boat with a cabin as well as being able to get out on deck. Instead we got a twin-hull boat with no cabin but a canopy over the deck that the wind rushed through. I think I am finished with the help x side of things for this trip. The last host here I think was and would have been bearable... its a very different way of life, not integrating with modern society and working and cooking with what they have is all very well, but for me, right now, it's not so good.
