... was really what I needed at this 6 week mark of our trip. I was able to take the kids out and about a bit further than my normal comfort zone. And one evening she babysat the kids and Stew and I enjoyed a date night in Scopello. It was a 15 min walk into town, lovely and cool with all the stars out. ... and drop us off to the Acropolis. It is a long walk, probably not worth taking in a hot summer's day.

Next stop was Segesta. Another 6 Euros, plus E1.50 for shuttle all the way to the top of the hill to check out the Amphitheatre. It was a steep climb, and with the scorching summer sun, it's worth taking the shuttle. On the way down, a walk would give photo opportunities with a different ...

... one of many languages, and was happy to chat, help, encourage tastes (I quickly became the designated driver) and suggest more and more expensive wines to try....... Left with a special selection of reds!

Continued north along the coast past extensive salt pans, windmills and sunseekers. The speed limit was 20km/hr, which was more than fast enough as the road was narrow and twisty, ...
