    ... on to Slovenia pretty quickly. And it was a great decision as we snaked our way through the mountains, the van coping admirably, with a new stunning vista around each corner. We headed to Bled and a campsite on the lake, but an avalanche of tourists for the Bled festival meant that it was completely full.     Just got the news that my niece in Italy had her baby today, so lots of celebrations going on. We're planning to return to Germany and Austria next year, and a side trip to Italy will be in order. We're hoping to get a longer visa for me next March from the German Consulate, so we won't run up against the problem again.

First take a three stage cable driven trains up an incredibly steep slope following a hydroelectric dam pipeline, then a tiny train through a tunnel under the mountain.     ... we luckily spotted another layby area we could park in. The car park was at a really steep angle so when we parked Sven we were all terrified it would topple over as we all pilled out (but it didn't). It did however still smell very funny as trying to get into this parking space had been a nightmare as had to reverse backwards up the steep hill (with Paul and his 'not with it' instructions) and in my panic forgot to take the hand break off - oops).
