... hopeful we could escape the fickle English weather for a while. This was our fourth bike crossing of the Channel Tunnel and we had learned enough to be through the checkpoint and into the terminal without getting off the bike. We were just giving ourselves a pat on the back when we discovered there was a train stuck in the tunnel and a long delay.

Czech Language = Difficult. We did try and even asked the waiter how to say thank you – he looked at us and said, "hmmm it’s very difficult for you." He wrote down Djekuji, he said it would be easier if we just said Thank you!

We finally made it to the Czech Republic after a delightful delay of German bike touring. We waited an extra day to cross the border so that we could early in the day....just in case anything went wonky....only to find the border crossing unmanned. No papers, no stamps, no inspections, no officials, no nada. Czech Rep. is a different world...sorta like going from the US into Mexico, and pretty much what you might expect from Eastern Europe.
