... with a French touch and it was stunning. We checked into our hotel and I was so excited that we had a traditional French window and I felt like I was in a movie. ... that were moored. After a bit more exploring we took the train back to Nice.
That evening we explored Nice a bit more and spent some time at the Promenade du Paillon (a large water feature), amused by all the different variations it was creating. Nice certainly is gorgeous in the evening with such a great atmosphere and buzz in the air.
Our stay in Nice was only brief but it was certainly enough time for us to do what we wanted to do, especially head to Monte Carlo!

Sunday we drove up the mountains to be blown away by the most amazing views from both sides of the magnificent blue colours of the water. Walked around an old Fort from the 1500,s. and through and along a track winding around the mountain. Took 101 photos and just enjoyed the spectacular scenery. We even visited places Lionel had never been to before so he also enjoyed discovering different areas.

... like a train. It had a non-functioning fireplace and a cute little table and chairs. Very comfortable. We set out for dinner around 6:30 but most dinner places didn't open until 7 pm. Giles highly recommended a crepe place but when we got there they were not ready for dinner so we walked around the shops. Very overpriced but this was the French Riviera after all. Venetian lands. Cannot describe the excitement! Flying out at 6.00pm,
arriving at Venice 7.05pm. We arrive in the Mestre so we will have to
get the train to the mainland of Venice. Our accommodation is close to
