The start of stage two!
764 Kms - Overcast and light drizzle.
We had a restless sleep, eye patches and ear plugs did not help. The energetic Italians were up at 5:30 talking and packing with the lights on in their quad. A Dutch woman in the next quad had a terrible cough all night. Debbie was cold because all she slept in was a sleeping bag liner. Our Spanish quad partners quietly slipped away by 6:30 and we got up at 7:00.

Bergen en passen
... ook wel gecombineerd. Uiteindelijk om 12.30 stonden we boven op de pas, druipend van het water. Aan de andere kant kwam de zon ons tegemoed. De eerst volgende camping lieten we links liggen, de volgende ook om uiteindelijk in de buurt van Pamplona uit te komen.
Vandaag 86 km gefietst, inclusief de weg naar de camping zoeken en een nieuw dagrecord in hoogtemeters gevestigd 1289.
Nu slapen.

Crazy doesn´t even explain it....
... of about 15,000-20,000 people who were all cheering us! Those runners that were lucky enough to make into the arena were celebrating when the fans got up on their feet and went nuts. What´s happening?...then all the sudden the runners started to spread like a sea of white and out came a young bull charging anything and everything in its way! Holy bleep! There was no sound or warning anything was happening, I started running like a chicken with my head ...
The Night Before El Camino
... door there were two problems that became evident. One was not a surprise to me but the other was a shock.
Firstly the auberge was closed. This I knew would be the case. If I had arrived by train then I would have made it to the auberge before they closed their doors at 11pm. But now it was after 1am. However, the volunteer working at this auberge was actually just outside having a smoke. So she let me into the place.

Running With the Bulls / World Cup
... This is when I noticed that camping in Europe is very different than camping in Canada. Our “site” was part of a massive tent city. Also, evenings of campfires and hot dog roasts are traditions apparently not appreciated in Spain, as they were replaced by a local restaurant and small grocery store.
