Orrison to Burguete - Trip day 6

Day 2 of the Camino This was a hard day. I don't write that lightly. After leaving Orrison at 800 metres on the morning we climb to around 1450 metres to one of the highest points on the Camino at Col de Lepoeder. The weather was not good. Were in the cloud with light rain and flakes of snow. The wind was bitter and extremely strong at times. There was ice on the sides of the track in places. Again , the training you do at home does not give you any idea of ...

... I find the more toned down France. Hard to believe the bulls running through the streets here, and the madhatters chasing them. I think I prefer PETA's The Running of the Nudes!! I was enthralled by all the little Tapas (or Pinxtos as they call them here) Bars, with the array of little dishes on the bar top for you to choose, and at 2-3 EUR a pop it is incredible!! Very much enjoying the pace here, the sun is out and the temps are rising!!!

Like many cities of its size and vintage it has a huge cathedral, and a monastery inside a walled section of the city. We got to see a real drawbridge ...

First Walk - St Jean to Roncesvalles 30.2km

A travel blog entry by alowther91 on Jul 25, 2013

Last night ended really well. Meet a French girl who is beautiful and we chatted for ages! Also meet this guy from chile - Rodrigo. We ran down to the shop at 9ish and bought four bottles of vino for 5-6 of us and had a really funny evening. Woke up at 5:12am to people getting ready for the day. I 'snoozed' for a bit and finally got up at about 5:40. Put on my cloths, brushed my teeth, had some breakfast and left. Got out of the hostel @ ...

Bull Run

A travel blog entry by 2girls1world on Jul 07, 2013

... amazing. The whole stadium is absolutely packed with everyone wearing their red and whites. After all the bulls come through they close the gates and all the runners are locked in the arena then they release 6 small bulls, one at a time, and let them run at the people. For a start we were a bit worried for them but a lot of them be mean to the bulls and wind them up so it gets exciting when the bulls charge ...
