We had another great stay at this castle hotel. The room was lovely, but the mattress was a little hard. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious. I had steak with a white bean fennel purée.thor had lamb. The desert was creme brûlée with a raspberry sauce.

Once organized we jumped in the car to head
to, yep you guessed it, another brewery (!), this time a family run brewery,
Jacob, where nobody spoke English in town and we were really grasping at straws
to find where to go and what to order. A bier garden in the sunshine on another
lake of the area, it felt more of an adventure with a clear language barrier in
      a tiny isolated town.

Dieter had invited us to go canoeing or kayaking. The kids thought it might be fun so we said yes.

We drove up to the corner of the Francon-Swiss area to a river where many people go to canoe. This area is Northeast of Nuremburg, on the Czech border and called this because the houses look like those in Switzerland as per Dieter. Wikipedia ...
