We had another great stay at this castle hotel. The room was lovely, but the mattress was a little hard. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious. I had steak with a white bean fennel purée.thor had lamb. The desert was creme brûlée with a raspberry sauce.

After a briefing by our guide, we were escorted to our car which was on a rotating platform. Like a game show prize. ...

We enjoyed a lovely breakfast, apart from Egypt this was probably one of the best we've had. There was delicious Bircher muesli and smoked salmon. So I made the most of it and decided it was going to be a 'no lunch and not many snacks’ day!

We couldn’t understand just before leaving why the streets were deathly quiet. Were all the Germans sleeping in!? I had been meaning to check European public holidays and sure ...

Hirschbach has been the home town of the Freudenthalers for 4 generations. The family Bakerie and Gasthaus still operates in the town's centre and is run by the 4th Bakrmeister Wolfgang Freudenthaler.

Hirschbach is stunning, the original buildings and the church were built in the 1700s and the quaint village still holds their charm. ...

... which had a more comfortable temperature. They had a taste of 22 different schnapps, some good and some not so good. My choice was a visit to an artist's apartment and studio where we had an opportunity to paint a picture in water colours. The artist, Rita Stern, is a contemporary artist and mainly paints in either acrylics or oils and comes from a long line of artists in her family. Her mother was a painter and her father who is ...
