... waiting it jumped its whole body out of the water which took us all by surprise and the only person to catch any of it on camera was Rachel, which did make her somewhat of a celebrity for the rest of the trip and she got a lot of requests for the photo to be emailed! ... The architecture in this part of Chile is so different to the north. Timber and iron as opposed to Adobe bricks. It's a real mix of European architecture. Yet more dogs , even one in a phone box. Coffee time at cafe Mawen.Tomorrow we go white water rafting. Bring it on!

... I had to push. The rain strengthened to what I would call a monsoon, flooding the road. With the rain and slow progress, night fell.

The rain was heavy enough to pool in the crooks on the inside of my jacket at the elbows. Every time I stood up, a pint of water poured into my gloves.

I inevitably fell again in the dark on one nasty decent. This time I just scraped my shin a bit and reopened the cuts on my hands. At least I had been wearing my thick gloves. ...

... the ship. We all had to be back on board by 4:30 ready for the ship to leave and continue the journey northwards back towards Puerto Mont. Then it was tea time. Despite the huge lunch people piled their plates high with bread rolls, cheese, ham and slices of cakes and tarts. They were eating as if there was no tomorrow.
