    ... as a backdrop. We had a delightful vegetarian dinner followed by more meandering when we found and bought some beautiful Bulgarian pottery with lovely earthy robust colours.

    ... a mile long, wide and cobbled, another test for the suspension, 20mph max with that vibration. It was impossible to use the computer to find a new route whilst moving, luckily there was lots of traffic lights on red and so every so often I had about 30 seconds to get Doris to navigate us back on route.We were soon on the ring road and heading for Plovdiv.     ... the sea at a village called Lozenets. It's beautifully clean and the owners make us very welcome. We make some tea and then climb down to the little beach at the foot of the cliff... Guy goes on about Norfolk yet again! We have dinner in the 'bistro' attached to the apartments, not expecting anything special.     Our first stop is Nessebar, a quiet little port in Bulgaria. The seaside town is a mix of old and new. On one side of the harbor we see modern hotels and, on the other, there are remnants of buildings from the Roman period. We walk thru the older section with its quaint shops and rough cobblestone streets. It's a little warm and humid out, so we walk down and dip our feet in the cool Black Sea.
