Travel Blogs by Travelers Who Stayed at the Hotel Bulgaria Plovdiv

from Plovdiv

Well, We had the row of our lives this morning in such a very very beautiful setting. We rowed in a man-made channel in Ploviv. ...a 2000 meter channel. The setting was so pretty and there were NO repeat NO motorboats, only sculls, shells and kayaks. We took an empacher single and a quad. Coach Iva rode her bike along the sides of the channel coaching from the bike. It was so fun. George, the coach there was very generous with equipment and the time of his rowers. We had his junior rowers, lo...

The only visitors... wherever we go

I am in Bulgaria Natasha and I were the first ones in our program to leave Istanbul. We all splurge on our supper at Leb-i Derya and congregated in my room while I packed everything. I asked Natasha to take my National Geographics book on Egypt, and Rachael took my Advanced Diving Manual. I just did not have the heart to throw them away. Lauren was wearing her ridiculous Turkish veil hat and waving a mini-Turkish flag as Natasha and I carried our luggages downstairs. Laura actually cried. The...

... forever in time with your fellow traveler friends.

Yesterday marked another day where I wake up and the unthinkable is about to happen. Laying on a beach led to riding a horse in a bikini and then helping ourselves to a hotel pool for the final hours of the bright sun. I don't make this up.
Today we will get back in the car, back on the road. We will shake hands, part ways and I am about to set sail off the ...

Incredible Plovdiv

... whole process is starting again. The website took our credit card number and issued a receipt which we had to pass onto the guesthouse!

2. When someone tells you to catch a bus from Sofia to Plovdiv stick with your convictions and use the train!

NOW FOR THE GOOD BITS

The travel from Sofia to Plovdiv was pleasant and the scenery lovely. Our only regret was that we did not catch the train!

... moj novcanik i poluprazna moja glava. Jednostavno koliko sam malo placen, toliko malo radim.

Nisam nesto bio odusevljen ovom ...

Plovdiv to Nessebar (on the Black Sea)

... Palace. Nessebar as well as being picturesque is Souvenir Central with a variety of shops and cafes lining the pretty streets. It is located on a small rocky isthmus in the Black Sea , is a UNESCO World Heritage site and dates back to 3000 BC. We love it here and spent the afternoon wandering about enjoying the town. Later we had dinner on our balcony, accompanied by Bulgarian Beer and Bulgarian Wine, and then went for a walk along the waterside in the cool of the evening.

A short day

... escape are propped open and it appears to be unlit. I go for a walk in the park; its got statues and play equipment in clearings and is rather fine. But its very hot out there even though the sun is now going in and becoming muggy. So back to hotel to eat and blog. This hotel has wireless too. Its a weird combination of old and modern. I have to leave tomorrow as they're full. Going for a walk later; I like this town. They've pedestrianized a large ...

... To reach Nessebar I took the small ferry that runs from Sunny Beach. It was cold and very windy day and the sea was really choppy for the short crossing over to Nessebar but was fun nonetheless. After disembarking the ferry you are immediatley faced with ruins of the old city walls, a favourite with tourists. Walking through the town is like being in a Swiss Alpine village with lots of small cobbled ...

Hotel Aqualand - Plovdiv

... in the hotel. Went down in the morning for my free complimentary breakfast, only to find that having milk with your cup of tea is just about unheard of. So much in fact that when I asked for some milk with my tea I had to pay for it, it wasn't inclided with the free part. The omlette I had for breakfast was ok, they had a choice of about 5 different hot meals. Overall, I had a great sleep and so I rate this hotel 8 out of 10

... not just sour milk but turn it into yoghurt. Whilst waiting for my train I went up to street level to get a bit of fresh air as it was quite close and humid and met a couple of rather sweet old ladies who were room touts. They spoke a little English and I explained I was leaving not arriving, but they stopped and had a chat anyway. They were sisters, one was a teacher and one was a 'noorse', well used to be a nurse I suppose they were 60/70-odd. She then mimed being ...
