The rest of our time in Arbatax

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 23, 2014

... up and up there I hope.

Our room at this resort was classified as being within one hotel and the resort had many different "hotels". It's quite a big place, enough so they manage to have the wildlife retreat in the middle and have something like 11 pools and 5 or 6 private beaches. We only visited the one beach that was close to our hotel as we wanted our time there to be more about relaxing and not planning more excursions. However, had we wanted to we could ...

... as being English speaking, but I can assure you that none of them really did at all. They couldn't understand what I wanted and just gave me the phone. I tried everything I could think of and Brittany tried googling how to do it, to no avail.

Our first full day in Arbatax

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 21, 2014

Our first full day in Arbatax was pretty good and we spent the majority of our time at the spa and wellness centre at the resort. We had paid the extra money for admittance when we booked, and had fallen in love with it.

We had to catch a semi-hourly bus from our hotel within the resort up through the wildlife park and to the spa. The wildlife park there was wonderful and it was just wide open space that extended up the mountain and around the spa. ...

    Getting to Arbatax, Sardinia!

A travel blog entry by malloryharvie on Jun 20, 2014

... English - everywhere else was fantastic. However, the moment we landed in Sardinia it was even worse!! In fact, we have yet to find one person that speaks English. We had been getting by with pointing and using basic words. Thank goodness for my pocket dictionary and phrasebook!

Anyway, we stopped in at the cafe and found the general direction of the resort from the woman speaking Italian and pointing at me. We just kept pushing on, tired ...

    Stuck in Sardinia

... given so far, but Arbatax is small and isn't a lot to see...Its actually in the middle of nowhere unless you have a car...which I did not. So for the next week I spent a majority of my time trying foods, watching sunsets, tanning, beginning this blog, and putting a lot of sleep time in for I knowingly won't get much over the coming weeks. Food was probably my favourite part of this trip, the staff at Arbataser hotel even though my Italian is well...I don't ...
