The dichotomy of this culture and place are hard to navigate and rationalize, but at the same time, this is the very thing we have come to see, to teach our children about, and to learn ourselves. Irony, it seems, is as pervasive as stray dogs and garbage. The only thing more prevalent than garbage here, however, is the beautiful and friendly natures that are housed within the Balinesians themselves. Maybe we will come back, simply for that.

Today we had a prearranged tour with Kadek to visit the Tegallantang Rice Terraces and the Gunung Kwai Temple. The area is picture postcard it is so beautiful.
