We left Nice this morning around 8 30 or 9am. I obviously was a tad bit nervous about driving again in Nice after our not so smooth landing on wednesday. Luckily Helga helped us out again and we made it to the highway without any trouble. We also think it was a better idea to wait until a lot of the rush hour traffic had passed. ... we got closer to Innsbruck they got bigger and bigger.

We went straight to the ski hill (Schlick 2000) to rent our equipment. Luckily the guy helping us spoke some English so it all went well! Once we got our tickets and equipment we headed up to the first gondola. And that’s where I started to panic a little. I hadn’t skied in over two years and this was not a little Glen Eden hill, this was the Austrian Alps!

... were one of the first ones up there that morning. Boarding down the mountain through the fresh powder, taking in the scenery of the Austrian Alps, we all had big smiles on our faces. The best snow boarding experience we have ever had.

A lot of jokes along the way, mostly laughing at one another for eating snow when we bailed.

... with me going on the pictures on tins and packets etc but Ros is able to read and speak a bit of German. So we managed to get some great meals together and ended up spending only about 6 euros/day each (about $9.00) for 2 meals ie breakfast and dinner. Self catering is certainly the way to go!
