... and got some fresh hot waffles, shaped like the Cathedral with melted chocolate on, and some delicious Stollen. It was a one hour drive to Vaals / Holland. A cute little town. We had dinner at Mo'ment, an interesting little resturant. Duck was the speciality. Matt had huge ribs and H a vegetarian lasagna. Hotel Kasteel Bloemendal Vaals was where we stayed and it was lovely. 18C restored manor house, and we were in the renovated wing.

Lot's of chocolates available that we don't see in Australia, we have nearly demolished the block of dark chocolate with pomegranate and chili. The fort in Maastricht was built in 1800s to protect the town from the French. It didn't help much as they had ...

    Pen-pals and long overdue visits

... Helen knocks on the door at 1B. Well bugger. Its not the right house at all.
We program Mrs GPS again and cross our fingers that her next destination prediction is correct. We drive past fields and pastures, past shops and houses, on and on, only occasionally seeing signs that indicate we are still in Aachen, but just a different suburb. Who knew it was so big? The aunties also work out that last time they visited they came in from the Koln (Cologne) ...
