Went for a walk down through the town for late brekky/lunch. Come back to hotel about 1300 and started to pack suit cases and get things organized for our journey up to visit Ricarda in Greifswald. Had breakfast at the little cafe down by the train station and caught up with Cheryl from Brisbane. Off into Munich and Oktoberfest again to see it sober and look for lost n found for Go Pro n camera gear. No luck but there must have been at least 20,000 people there you could hardly move. 3. Gipfelbahn: a huge gondola with only two large cars and two towers that took us up to the Gipfelwelt 3000, the building near the top of the mountain.

We first visited the "Top of Salzburg", the highest viewing platform in Austria at 3029 meters (9940 feet)! It was very cold outside at only 39 F, but we didn't care because the Austrian Alps were spread out before us.

After lunch we hiked a short trail that went backwards and up to the Swarovski Oberservatory, which was made of glass and shaped like a crystal (because Swarovski is a famous crystal company).
