Tracy and I drooled and fantasized about much of the old furniture we saw, some of which can see. The photos, I swear, do not do the actual piece justice, since I used a 2-megapixel camera on a phone. We were at once excited and dolorous at the splendor of it all: dolorous in that we could reasonably afford none of it right now; excited in the idea that at three year's end we will most likely be able to beautify our future houses with an variety.

It is hard to describe the joy that I felt on the 21st, when I was taken by ambulance to Lourdes airport and saw the C21 (Learjet) and its US military crew that were to take me to Landstuhl. Although the care at Lourdes was excellent, there is something innately comforting about being with people of your own country, their voices, accents, manners felt like it ...

This is where the Air Force base is and its only about 7 min away. It's basically a little America here...they have everything from gyms and a pool to a shopping mall. It's really convenient and really nice to have a place to work out and somewhere where I understand what everyone is saying and what's going on...but I'm in Germany! So I am going to try not to come here too often.

So I technically live in Henschtal, but it's easier to say Glan-Münchweiler because its the town next town over and a bit bigger. Henschtal is beautiful! We seriously live in the country and it's such a neat change. The people are really warm and friendly and sadly they all speak English...the Elsner's know everyone and I am quickly meeting all of the neighbors!

We must have gotten too close to the boarder because we were following green signs and found ourselves on the freeway. 6 kilometers of honking cars communicating something we already knew was a less interesting experience.
