I also spoke with a couple people I knew who had done some long-term traveling and they helped me understand what it would be like for you on the road. Checked the opening times and they were supposed to be 8.30 now we are back in France (technically Germany was on our left and France on our right, and the locks are now under French control). We waited until after 9 just in case but still nothing and nowhere to tie up! A man shouted to us “no power” so we ...

FIFA championship Brazil v. Spain. I watched it on my last night in the Carl Duisberg Haus with Karine and her friend Lucas. They are both Brazilian, so obviously they were pretty into the game. It started at midnight and we stayed up until 2:30 watching Brazil (the under dog) kill Spain 3-0. They provided beer and I provided wine. We didn't have many dishes at our house so we sipped out of little ceramic espresso cups. Throughout the game we also talked about our ...
