Old Town Hall is a complex of buildings from the 14th century. It is the oldest city hall in the country and it is one of the oldest stone buildings still standing in Bratislava, with the tower being built approximately in 1370. ... We didn't expect much and ended up having a great day and meal for, once again, a low price that left us scratching our heads. The food here is pretty amazing if you stray from the old town tourist traps.

We bought our tix for Prague already and moved our stuff into a dorm for tonight. We plan to just get up early for the bus, so Deanne's initiation to dorm life as an adult will be brief.

At night we went to the restaurant round the corner from the hotel. I got a really good pepper steak with some local wines and there was Tango dancing on which was good to watch. After that we took a stroll in the dark and saw the castle lit up at night. There was a lot of Easter church services on with people standing outside singing songs and drinking mulled wine. Turns out Bratislava is a nice city and I'm glad we did get off the train there! ...

We ended our day at the Christmas market in the center of the oldest part of the city. This one was quite different than Budapest's market. In Budapest, it was not crowded and mostly tourists. In Bratislava the market was set up around a small ice rink and was jam-packed with locals. There were more food stands than craft stands. The food stands were either selling crepes or sausages.
