After purchasing our train tickets for the day, we were just in time for the train to...Manarola. Working our way North from Riomaggiore, we were picking up where we left off yesterday. Manarola was my favorite - I have to say. The vineyard walk alone was one of my Italy highlights (as you'll see). Manarola used to have a stream running through it, which is now ...

This day started early and dragged on forever. Here I was thinking that I was finally done with Rome and getting out of there. But, Rome had more up its sleeve to make sure that I truly disliked it. The first task of the day was to take the public bus to the train station. After a little confusion and a turn around, I made it. Silly me thought that one I got to Termini life would be easy… NOT. Why is the theme of Rome total disappointment? The Roma Termini Station is awful, ...

    ... Mediterranean.

We docked in Vernazza, had lunch on the piazza overlooking the cove. Gianni Franz’s, famous for its pesto, Vongole (clams) and focaccia, offered good food, but the service was almost belligerent. When I asked for parmesan for my clam pasta dish, the waiter rudely told me not to use it as the cheese was too strong for the flavors of the dish. ...
