Today we had booked to go on a tour with one of the local guides that worked at the hotel we were staying at. The boat was set to leave the dock, which was handily at the back of our hotel, at 9:30. ... 8211; I missed all the last buses so had to stay in the port town, where out of the blue got a message from Sony – a Mexican Couchsurfer I had stayed with 6 months ago. By complete coincidence she happened to be staying in this EXACT port town that I was in by accident– Fate aye!
Spent the next day together, getting up at 4.45am (this is getting silly now) to visit Manuel Antonio national park which was ridiculously touristic but really beautiful and was good ...
... We would get up every morning just before it got
light out, grab a cup of coffee, and just sit on the deck and let the
entertainment begin. We saw The capuchin monkeys, coatis(both single
males and family group), aracaris, parrots, tanagers, mot
mots,hummingbirds, and so many other birds we could not begin to mention
them all! The toucans were there every day and we loved listening to
the howlers every ...
A late provided lunch of tradtional fare (don't you love the plate ... a leaf on a wooden platter!) ended this most exciting day. By the way, it you didn't want "rice and beans" then the other option was "beans and rice"!

After our rafting adventure we made camp in Sarapiqui in the hopes of making an early morning run to one of the shyest active volcanoes in the world, and the most visited site in Costa Rica- Poas Volcan normally only shows its bubbling cauldron for a few minutes early in the morning before clouding over for the rest of the day.
