      ... break and a snack. Conor got one more cappuccino, and I debated getting Hazelnut Chocolate cookies...but decided the more responsible choice was the freshly cooked Risotto in the cafeteria of the rest stop (seriously, Italy has the road trip amenities figured out). The drive home was pretty, but I think that the drive there in the daylight was just a bit nicer.

      All in all - Italy, you're a bit pricey but the food was delicious! Time to plan our next adventure :)

      Museum at Academia for a bit of culture- lots of painting of last supper that were rescued(?) from churches in town. Some really old 14c stuff and some more recent restored items. Amazing brushwork and huge alter pieces some with bible stories that were new to me. Spent arvo wandering lanes and canals. Pizza at same restaurant. ...

      ... old churches we've had a look at. It seems the Italians know how to do churches, particularly of the Catholic variety.

      After our little tip toe through the Duomo di Milano we popped across the street to browse all the big names in fashion in a massive grand plaza. Not being able to afford looking at the shops, we popped to the train station to sort out some upcoming train tickets. This took about an hour as the queue was substantial.       ... grand room with the music. It was really mostly Lawrence Welk type hits that I grew up on enjoy listening to - I know if my parents were there they would have been dancing in the middle of the room...I could picture them there. They were playing, Love is a Many Splendid Thing, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Natalie Cole was so beautiful to listen to.
