... so we are 'rerouted' and we head north to almost the Austrian border. Scenic, different housing, and very productive valleys. Many factories along the rivers but somehow they blend into the scenery. We join the autobahn/autostrada and soon we are south again to Trento.
We are staying at Villa Madruzzo, very similar to a guest house you would find in the Blue Mountains. Very pleasant, and they provided a fabulous very late lunch when we ...

What a pleasant surprise package this was. We stayed at a beautiful guest house in Valle Felicita owned by two gorgeous young Italians with 2 kids. It was a home away from home and as such we decided to stay 4 days. We had intended travelling to Venice from here but John has been unwell with flu so we stayed put so he could rest. The hosts put us in touch with a pharmacy that had Doctors working who ...

We just finished a delicious five course dinner and are bundling up again to go into the town square for New Year's Eve fireworks. Out Fitbits tell us that we walked over 4 miles today ... So ...

Snow on the ground greeted us in Frankfurt. Nearly 1 1/2 miles through the airport and we reached our gate to Venice. After watching the wings get de-iced-we finally got underway. We walked around Padua this evening ... also known as Padova. It is quite cold but will be colder in the morning in Venice. We had Mass in a pretty chapel in the church of St. Plus X. Pictures are from Padua. Hope they will ...

... 78 statues, who represent famous citizens of Padova (one being Galileo Galilie). It is on the site of an old roman arena that was demolished in the 16th century and the ruins were used to build the Cathedral of St Guistina which is at one end of the elliptical park. The Cathedral has an impressive open space inside with not many seats.
Liam enjoyed the park as there was still quite a lot of frozen snow about, he had fun trying to throw snow balls at Rob. ...
