... event in this guys garage. He, of course, invited us in and we pulled up a chair at the table between his silver BMW and his wine bottling machine.

We spent the next hour tasting and learning about the wines he makes, his trip to Disney World, the British couple's 5 week trip to Germany and had a blast. We bought a nice Red and a Riesling and went back to toast another sunset.

Dinner was at Fisch-Fritz and the Hotel-Fritz (It makes me smile to say that.)

We're enjoying the small town feel of Trier...on the river Mosel, close to the Rhine. We love the river...have slowed down...visited the sights...eaten well...did our laundry...planned for our next stop. We also bicycled today, but those fotos will be in tomorrow's entry. ...

We spent a great day leisurely driving along the Mosel River Valley watching the barges and river cruise ships go by. The city of Trier had a fair amount of Roman influence hundreds of years ago with roman baths, a small coliseum and the remains of an arched bridge over the Mosel. This is a beautiful part of the world with more vineyards than we have ever ...

From Munich we went to Dachau, the first Nazi concentration camp...moving and painful. It is being preserved with the motto "never again" and all students in Bavaria are required to visit a concentration camp.

On a cheerier note, we visited the transportation museum on a weekday and so enjoyed the laughter ...

... awesome to see. It crazy how much love and passion these people have for their country/team. It was different than back home, better. It’s more true passion than just the bandwagon. The crowd was smaller but you feel it. Leaving town, everyone was honking their horns, waving flags, and German songs were all over the radio. It was cool to experience.
