... have known it would take long with that comment. Several calls and almost two hours later, we were picked up by a young Greek guy.
When we told him we were from Texas, he said "oh, I am scared of you now" and made the universal sign for gun shooting! ... down to the port. At the moment I am at the port having a drink and am dreading the uphill back home. I went to an area called little Venice( I think every town has one of these) which has a lot of shops. I then went towards the sea and found a " beach" which is really a concrete slab where one can jump off from into the sea. It is in a little cove so much more wind sheltered than anywhere else. The water is see through and an amazing colour and not too cold- only put my feet in. ...

... and 3) in the water.

Although we spent most of the day in the car (NOT snorkeling, which was the original idea, but well-ruined by the furious winds), we both felt we'd release a bit of our inner Indiana Jones and were none the worse for the wear. Moussaka (for me) at Popi's Grill (safely back in Naxos Town), est. 1948, was delicious while we watched the Greeks beat the Russians in the Euro Cup. The wind may have kept us out of the sea, but it didn't keep us from having a good ...
