This is a less expensive hotel on the beach of Brasilito. We went for supper, it was ok - a smidgen less cost than other places we had eaten but definitely not as good.

We each had a drink, guacamole, Roger had chicken, the girls had fish and chips, I had 2 chicken skewers. It was $32,000 Colones = $59 USD.

Even though the area was fairly nice, just across from the beach and a bar next door and some little food places we got a room that had no AC and it was ridiculously HOT. I mean it was suffocating and the Ceiling Fan did nothing to help. I went outside late at night as it was slightly cooler. I had to shower several time during the night to keep cool. Sleep was must unrestful. The hotel did try to keep its rooms clean and I would not complain on that part. The restaurant/bar was also nice...expensive but nice to sit and relax. If you stay...get a Room with AC. It would have been much better if we did.

We spent the day exploring the area in Brasilto, Playa Flamingo, Playa Potrero. I think you definitely need a vehicle to go out and exploring. We are also interested in either living here full time or part time. Our definitely favourite area is Playa Flamingo, it appeared this was the highest concentration of people/tourists in the area. It took us …

... us signing up. We had to rush to get the things we needed for biking from our bags and try to figure out what to do for lunch. There was a grocery store nearby so granola bars and water would have to suffice. Our guides picked us up from the activity centre and off we went. The ride we chose took us through the country side and through some small villages. We had to drive a short distance out of town to the starting point. On the way one of the guides spotted ...

... My suitcase weighs an absolute ton, it is literally a monster. That's going to be fun to drag round Panama and Colombia for three weeks. My taxi was late so for one of the only times ever I was late for work. Oh well technically I'm not even meant to be there and it's not like they can make me do the close as a punishment! Today we're doing another IDC dive where I have to set up the dive site again and then a final fun dive, yay. Oh course, as usual, it ...

... for the Catalina island trip and I still had it in my locker. I had decided to take it on the night dive because I though I might be able to get some cool photos/might see stuff I never usually see. I did all of the pre-dive checks with it and it worked fine. I got it under the water and it wouldn't turn on but there was no water in it and no bubbles so I just thought it had run out of battery. I got back on the boat and found that there was a ...

... the only guest there, host Hugo decided to put me in the cabin up front instead, much to my relief. Night came, and with it the enclosing darkness of the jungle, and all of its enigmatic sounds. Constant wind and night rain pelted loudly on the corrugated tin roof, attacking the tiny cabin in what sounded like an endless spray of bullets.

The cabin had a toilet. The pods don't. My frequent nightly trips to the outhouse would have been a nightmare. For ...
