Even though the area was fairly nice, just across from the beach and a bar next door and some little food places we got a room that had no AC and it was ridiculously HOT. I mean it was suffocating and the Ceiling Fan did nothing to help. I went outside late at night as it was slightly cooler. I had to shower several time during the night to keep cool. Sleep was must unrestful. The hotel did try to keep its rooms clean and I would not complain on that part. The restaurant/bar was also nice...expensive but nice to sit and relax. If you stay...get a Room with AC. It would have been much better if we did.

Mary has fallen and broken her hip and been in and out of nursing homes in the last few years. Despite her peril she still knits and send the blankets to people in need. We all loaded up in two vehicles and headed to Mount Siania, a church near Pijie ...

... bottle of chilli for everyone (literally alcohol, salt and chilli-Aimee it's literally you're 3 favourite things in one!) have to admit that it's not exactly my favourite drink and I managed to politely decline all but one shot of it. By the end of happy hour I had, had two margaritas, a shot and three beers and only three tiny chicken legs. I then had to ride my bike home with a shopping bag on each handle probably slightly tipsy and certainly feeling very much like a local person ...

We headed to the Central Valley today to stay at a guesthouse called La Villa Hermosa. It is owned by the most lovely people, Wendy and Dave Holt. I mean seriously, it was such a relief to emerge from the scorpion infested (there were more that Tracy hadn't told me about) jungle where roads were simply drainage pathways that people drove on to the simple but picturesque countryside around Lake ...

This was an awesome tour for the price. You got to drive your own ATV at least 30 minutes each way along the beach dirt roads and even highways through town.

Then arrived at the zip line place for 12 fabulous zip lines. I even had the opportunity to go upside down and superman on the zip lines. It was so awesome.

At the end of the zip line tour it ended at the monkey ...

None of the A.M. Volunteers were there. Several of the local children came up and gave us hugs.

Wedneday at 4:00 he's going to have Ash Wednesday services and we'll try to go.

Next Sunday we plan to ride the bus farther, to Santa Cruz. Surfing lessons and canopy hikes just don't appeal to us. We're the grandparents in this soujourn.
