headed bk to our own hostel to get ready to go eat.
Since it was our last night in Costa Rica we decided to go all out
and have a nice meal and some wine. The hostel recommended a restaurant
called "The Lava Lounge".....it was grand but nothing special.
It was back to the hostel then to pack for our 530am start the next day.
Not the most exciting stops of the journey!

... We started the morning going over our knowledge reviews and working out what we were going to do today, underwater photography tips etc We did out first dive at Tortuga where I was hoping to get a picture of the sharks. We didn't end up going to find them in the end but still saw enough stuff to do some good practices for the course. At first my flash was refusing to turn on and I was beginning to think my camera had died on its first outing. After a ...
We've been in Costa Rica for a week or so now and it's warm, stormy, expensive and really really beautiful. Despite being in this tropical paradise, finding a place to watch the European Cup qualifiers has overruled all other activity. Paul's just managed to persuade the hotel owner to open the bar early for the England game so I thought i'd do a bit of an update... After a lovely send-off from our friend Kaboe in LA (more of which soon) we left for ...
This was an awesome tour for the price. You got to drive your own ATV at least 30 minutes each way along the beach dirt roads and even highways through town.
Then arrived at the zip line place for 12 fabulous zip lines. I even had the opportunity to go upside down and superman on the zip lines. It was so awesome.
At the end of the zip line tour it ended at the monkey ...

None of the A.M. Volunteers were there. Several of the local children came up and gave us hugs.
Wedneday at 4:00 he's going to have Ash Wednesday services and we'll try to go.
Next Sunday we plan to ride the bus farther, to Santa Cruz. Surfing lessons and canopy hikes just don't appeal to us. We're the grandparents in this soujourn.

Even though the area was fairly nice, just across from the beach and a bar next door and some little food places we got a room that had no AC and it was ridiculously HOT. I mean it was suffocating and the Ceiling Fan did nothing to help. I went outside late at night as it was slightly cooler. I had to shower several time during the night to keep cool. Sleep was must unrestful. The hotel did try to keep its rooms clean and I would not complain on that part. The restaurant/bar was also nice...expensive but nice to sit and relax. If you stay...get a Room with AC. It would have been much better if we did.
