    ... for the afternoon. We sat on the terrace for a while, but it was too hot to stay there for long. We read and napped all afternoon.     ... and ostentatious! Our local guide was very knowledgeable and the commentary on each building was informative. After literally soaking up the atmosphere we decided to have lunch at the local trattoria and seek shelter from the rain. Our meals were simple but delicious!
