      ... love all the monuments and rich art history here in Florence, but I have never been a big city person and probably never will be... Florence is so busy and fast paced because of all the tourist traffic. Florence is loud and it is SMELLY. I never expected the gross smells I came across while walking down the little side streets. There is more graffiti, more trash, and more rude people here than in Massa.

      So where am I going? Thursday night we leave for the Czech Republic where we will be in Prague for a few days. I have heard it is a beautiful place with a fun night life and really interesting places to visit. We are going to tour a castle on Saturday I think. After Prague we're going to Amsterdam. Never thought I would go there but I get a few days there before we continue up to Berlin. Yay going back to Germany!! I loved Germany. ...

      ... cheese –yum!). At Multipulciano they have barrel races (with 80 kg barrels) up the steep windy cobbled streets - the photo below shows 2 guys practicing for the upcoming competition. Many of the medieval towns have big festivals during August and the towns are very colourful with flags along the streets, decorations and special events. Then via Siena (where the big horse race was only a couple of days beforehand) we travelled south to stay in Rome for 2 ...
