    This year we have pretty much stuck to our intended clockwise route around the Iberian peninsula but the area I had least planned was northern Spain, with the exception of the Picos de Europa mountain range - a 'must see', we had both agreed.     ... of nights then moved further north to Ria de Arosa, A Pobra do Caramiņal.

    The area has a fantastic coastline and some beautiful unspoilt towns and beaches. This is nothing like the Costa Del Sol or Costa Blanca.

    Although the days are still hot the night time temps are getting down to below 20C which makes sleeping more comfortable. The sea temperature is a lot colder here but a lot more refreshing when you need to cool ...

    Today, we left Santiago heading for the coast on three days to Finisterre. Short day today of about 14 miles. Nice walk except for one steep hill but it is the last steep hill.

    ... and beaches. Some time I must come back to Porto and get a tram pass and spend a day going on every one of the old style cars. Up hills and weaving between 21 century traffic I was envious of the passengers within. We took the 3 for €19.00 tour, bus first then river trip and lastly port cellar tour and tasting in Cave Burmester.
