... in Oosterbeek at 00:30 hrs. 15 minutes too late. She just passed away.
She had a good life and was very content with the fact she was going to die.
Memories of her and good friend Peter in Judo's.

Emirates departed in time and their service on board was very good. 2 2/12 hr lay over in DXB (Dubai) and another 777 took me to JNB (Johannesburg) were we landed in between the afternoon showers. Temp just came down from 28 to 23, lovely refreshing.

... guys from Uruguay and they asked which felt more dangerous, Amsterdam or Rome, to which we both agreed Rome. It's not that Rome makes me feel like I can't go out, but the guys there seem aggressively, stubbornly creepy, and I feel the need to be more on edge. In Amsterdam I felt totally comfortable and confident. Eventually we made our way back to the hostel to get a couple hours of sleep before getting up to checkout and catch a train back to Brussels. ... throughout the city. Sidewalks where they do exist are very narrow, and even there the bikes may run you down. It was quite the sight to see tiny babies sitting in a baby seat at the front of the bike with no helmets. Women ride at the back of the bikes riding side saddle style. We saw dogs in baskets at the front and back of bikes. It was very eye opening.

The smoked salmon appetiser at dinner was definitely the dish of the evening. They seem to do the appetiser well, and then things deteriorate. I tried pecorino risotto. I'm finding the risotto interesting - for an Italian ship, I would expect the risotto to be amazing, but so far I think mine (and any I've had at a restaurant in New Zealand) is about 100% better!
