... slow motion and nothing you can do to help. There are these poles in the middle of the trail to prevent cars from driving on the trails and someone ran smack into it and flipped over the bike. She ended up being fine other than a cut chin and a big fright. Glad I brought the spray I was given to for my knee so I can be of a bit of help. She was a trooper and got back on and we continued the ride. Had nice conversation with fellow bikers as we traveled through this nice town. ...

... a random village for a flam-kuchen / tarte flambe - a typical Alsace dish much like a pizza but with a base of creme fraiche instead of tomato sauce. Anna had snails on hers, amongst other things!
Strasbourg was beautiful though, with a gorgeous (and massive) gothic cathedral amongst other things, we spent the evening walking through the city in baking weather.

The next day we rode on to Reims. The ride was unspectacular but Reims was a very pretty place. Again it had ...

... places in town and getting lost on our way back to the hotel, we ate in McDonalds for the 4th day. I remember it now and I feel sick. I promised to myself that I was never ever going to eat a burger in my life.

I kind of kept my promise, but my two friends decided that they didn't needed to make such sacrifices.

At night, we took our train to Amsterdam to spend our only night there.
