3 hrs to Thurrock,way ahead of time so coffee at services. Bad move. As we came out a truck had caught fire before the bridge and led to over an hour delay. A bit of a lie-in this morning after our late night, and then a wander to the Blois central market, which is held every Saturday morning in the central plaza. What a fabulous array of local produce - everything you can think of -including enormous pans of fresh hot paella.

... Passion site. No it wasn't a winery! It was a small diary farm 20km or so from the ferry terminal. As you will see we secured our over night spot next to the shed the cows live in. This small operation - husband and wife team- run 70 cows milking twice a day and receiving only 35c per litre of milk. I guess this us where the France Passion thing really works as from their milk they manufacture icecream and sell it directly to those who like us camp ...

The true adventure begins! Off to Guildford, pick up jake an off to Dover for the tunnel crossing! Party on!! The WWII war lookalike train to France carts is trough.. An too no border control or anything in France.. Onwards again towards St-Emilion. The weather perfect , reaching highs of 26 degrees we opt for a slower trip avoiding the paeage. Arriving in St-Emilion in the afternoon. It was heaving so we opt for a tour of the vineyards.We drive past mouth watering names like Chateau La Roque and St Christophe, but it is a little way out of St Emilion that we are heading.
