Hmmm what happened today? Oh! Today was the day of terrible food choices. We started our morning off with sampling the grapes in the vineyard we woke up in, they were fermenting on the vine - bad choice. He has also revealed and restored some frescoes in his top half of the church. It is appalling that the powers that be have converted the lower half into prosaic offices. He rails against the political culture in Italy, and perhaps Italian culture in general. He explains ...

... kept us going. The local bus got us into town (Portaferrio) for the next day where we wandered, and wandered. We were a bit late to visit the villa where Napoleon Bonaparte was 'imprisoned' but able to have a good sticky beak at the outside. Walked up and around some amazing flights of steps and visited a fort on top. All these places seem to have had brutal pasts and have need of forts, old walls etc ...
