... to scores of hippies flocking here in the late 60's to take up rent free residence in the caves used for burials in Roman times.
We parked at the beach, there were a couple of other tourist cars parked, but no sign of the hippies, we were expecting groups of wrinkled faces with grey ponytails to be here!
The entry fee of 2 € paid we started to explore, the first caves were not very ...

... deep gorges, by the middle of the afternoon we turned off the main road and dropped down the side if a gorge, at one point it was so tight you could have touched both sides, however you would have got wet feet in the river. We found a camping spot at the end of the village close to the causeway, we went for a walk onto the Peninsular passing some windmills in various states of disrepair. There was a finger post with various things to see and distances to them, we decided to walk to them tomorrow, as ...

We left our safe haven to drive to the Lasitsi Plateau at 900 metres high our guide book said, it's a vast expanse of green fields inter dispersed with almond trees and orchards. We stopped by the beach to walk Logan and drove through a couple of towns looking for somewhere to get some documents printed off, we couldn't find anywhere so started the climb up to the plateau. It wasn't long before we hit the snow line, ...
