The next day we needed to book our train tickets to Prague and managed to make what should have taken about 45 minutes take 2 hours by getting very lost! ... the Mamaison Residence apartments (another special) and it really made the stay. We had a gym in the building that we could use free of charge and it was great to have the normality of hitting the treadmill and using the weights (even though we were a few months out of practice). We also received free pancakes delivered to our room after giving the accommodation a review on Trip Advisor (who said bribery was a bad thing?!).

Then after some time under German rule during the war and rebuilding a new Czechoslovakia under the Soviets, 1989 brought the Velvet Revolution and in 1993, Slovakia – an independent nation was born.
