... groups of people were allowed in, in timed increments over the next hour, the crowds grew, and I'm sure by afternoon it would be wall-to-wall people. By coming early, however, I know we were afforded special opportunity to enjoy it with less bustle. ... the same sites we had seen on Sunday afternoon, however there were many more sites to take in

Barcelona is truly a beautiful city, steeped in history and achitecturally beautiful buildings too numerous to mention. There are an incredible number of grand buildings, many that were also very unique. Gaudi clearly had a large influence on many buildings within the city. There are numerous very unique and even quite strange building scattered ...

... so our clothes just hung off us. Over-sized walking gear just doesn't cut it in chic Barcelona. We knew it was bad when an Indian shop keeper followed us around his shop as we stocked up for breakfast the previous night.

We headed for Zara and bought some new shirts and pants to fit in with the locals. It was great to feel smartly dressed again and in much smaller sizes. This shopping went on for about three hours before we came back ...
