... Canal City before walking back to our hotel. We were pretty exhausted after a day of walking and shopping so we relaxed for a couple of hours before heading out for dinner. ... for over an hour. Our bottoms were pretty sore from sitting on the wooden seats by the time we disembarked. We arrived in a quaint village and we walked to a restaurant that Haruyo had reserved for us. The specialty of the area is grilled eel - kabayaki. The building is now the Saga Castle History Museum and information is provided (in English too) outlining the function of each room and area. Other parts of the museum are used to detail the accomplishments of Saga during the Late Edo period and the Imperial Restoration, as well as introducing the prominent people in Saga at that time, the pioneers of modern Japan.

Anyway, I did pick up that our bus would not go directly to Saga and it would mean a transfer. We were hoping the transfer would take place at a bus terminal. Alas, that was not to be.
