A little further along the road to Arita is the Koransha porcelain shop and museum. Koransha is an old, well-established kiln. Their shop and museum are in a a two-story building with a Western-style antique curved wooden staircase, something you would expect to find in a Victorian building.

... to get something there though the prices were sky high. The staff are eager to serve me so I feel a bit rushed. I show them a picture of Dakota and they show everyone in the shop, the women all crowd round cooing. I'm sure they think she's mine and have abandoned her! At least now I know how much they cost and hope I can find a Japanese speaker to help me in Kyoto to make sure I get the right size and type. I haven't eaten anything good since Tokyo. ...
