Wieczorny spacer po okolicy i znow piekne, stare kamienice, palace, koscioly. Veszprem, po Budapeszcie, to drugie, tak bogate w zabytki miasto.
Kolacja wegierska, oczywiscie :) w malej knajpce na podzamczu.
Rano, po sniadaniu w hotelowej restauracji, podziwiamy jeszcze raz to, co ogladalismy po zachodzie slonca .

Wieczorny spacer i , obowiazkowo: gulasz. No, i piwo. Biedny Piotrek - kierowca, zawsze poszkodowany, ma okazje odrobic zaleglosci w piwkowaniu.
Ale.... gdyby dopuscil kogos do kierownicy... Nie dopuszcza, to ma za swoje ;)))
Pokoje ze sniadaniem, po ktorym jeszcze spacer po miasteczku, ktore wyglada inaczej niz w wieczornym swietle.

Tihany is a small peninsula on the northern side of Lake Balaton, it was a 45min bus ride from Balatonfured... The town centre was extremely provincial, with the exception of some very touristy/souvenir shops there was very little else there...

I must say that I was somewhat unimpressed by Lake Balaton, although the sight of our elderly, cynical program director stripping down to a speedo for a quick dip was something I won't soon forget. Balaton has a reputation as a huge destination for Hungarians but when we were there the weather was less than ideal and it was pretty much deserted. I think most of the people who voted for the lake regretted their decision.

Part of reason that this particular program appealed to me was that it included trips. I don't normally like tour buses but hey, they were free right? Our first trip was to western Hungary, starting in the small but beautiful town of Veszprem. I could have spent all day wandering around the town but we only got about two hours ...

Tihany is a delightful little town with a beautiful abbey on the coast of the lake Balaton. (Peninsula).

... wine festival. Left Hungary for Romania today and had an 'interesting' time trying to get over the border on the very limited public transport (and our very limited Hungarian). Ended up walking a few miles to get to and cross the border (where the border officials had a great time looking at all our stamps and visas in our passport, reeling off countries) then we managed to get a few lifts to finally arrive in Satu Mare ready for some adventures in Maramures, Romania.....
