We had a picnic on the hill above the museum, and then headed to the Berchtesgaden alpine museum in the town. It had an exhibition about the national park, how it was formed, and the flora and fauna that live there - really well done. All in all a really fun and educational day ...

        The weather was mixed today so we decided to go to the town of Berchtesgaden and take a drive up the Rossfeldstrasse, the highest panoramic drive in Germany. It was then time for coffee and a cake in the town before having a quick stomp about. We needed to be back in reasonable time, as we were heading to Salzburg, to the cinema, having found a Cineplex that was showing Spectre in English !! Yeah ...

        ... much as we do now and 3) we have arrived just in time to see the fall colors.  Our hearts have been a little heavy lately with missing home as we've been gone over 6 weeks now. It's crazy how you can be in some of the most beautiful places in the world and still get homesick. We miss our family, friends, and really miss Manny.
