... concert, especially the final number as it echoed through the cathedral.
After the concert we were free until 4:30. Jack, Suzanne and I looked for a place to eat. We ended up at . Ristorante Bilancia d Oro, an Italian restaurant in a Bavarian town Very good and not expensive; I was able to stay under the 15 Euros the ship gave us for lunch. Ordinarily the ship would be docked here and available for lunch, but since it had gone on they had to give ...
... r diesen Flug super Plätze ausgesucht, ganz hinten.

It rained on and off all day during the drive. We did take a lot of roads across the country and so it was an enjoyable day. We found a field of corn and stopped to take a picture of how tall it really is. Has to be over 7 feet.
We stopped early in a small ...
... between 17,000 and 18,000 pipes. What a great sound, Mac was able to put some of it on video although it wasn't allowed and he was tapped on the shoulder but managed to get most of it. Back to the boat for lunch and then much to the amusement of Mac and Kevin, Lois and I decided to go on a 3 hour bike ride along the river Inn (no we don't have any photos to upload but Mac has 45 seconds of Video at the start ...........). We rode all the way to ...
Passau, Bavaria, Germany aliceandmac... be about six of them here. The distance turned out to be modest so I was approaching Passau around 1pm. The hills have now closed in and the Danube is running in a clear valley. I decided to head for the hostel to be sure of the food position. Followed the signs to the bottom of a steep hill; this is only another castle hostel. Its about 700m up a road so steep that pushing is very difficult. Do eventually get there but abandon plans to see the town later! Check in and the ...
Passau, Bavaria, Germany i_could_walk... next morning (2nd) down the Danube, stunning scenery through narrow valley with steep ( vertical sides) for almost whole day. Lunch stop reminiscant of Hawkesbury river. (fresh water) Lots of Barges both people and freight. Second night at Aschach.
Passau, Bavaria, Germany alburybikers... and people. We had dinner at the local brewery and had my first beer with my Dad. The tour was a self guided tour but they pre-book all the hotel rooms and provided a map, and every morning they would pick up our luggage and take it to the next hotel. The ride was great because they had a bike path that followed the river the majority of the time and it was relatively ...
Passau, Bavaria, Germany corr... The tourguide did tell us some very interesting things about Salzburg and the Von Trapp family too, as well as some delightful little discrepancies in the film. For example, the hill Maria is running on in the opening scenes to the film is actuallly 12km away from the convent! The Von Trapp family's story is still fascinating, and has got me really interested. In keeping with the musical vein I visited ...
Salzburg, Austria marelia... After walking out of one of the cathedrals, I had a funny feeling that we were begin followed by a suspicious-looking man. Sure enough, when we stopped, he stopped, when we turned, so did he. The weird thing about it was that he stuck very close to us the whole time and was staring at us, not being inconspicuous in the least. Thankfully we ended up losing him in the crowds, but ...
