... one. The first thing we hopped on was the big trampoline, which really made us think the whole hour was going to be easier than it actually was. To the right was an upward curved ramp on a corner, with the goal being to run around it to the other side. It seemed fairly simple but I did not manage to make it once, every time getting about 3 steps before toppling into the water. From there you had to leap a gap that honestly didn't seem humanly possible, so I resigned ...

... trough picturesque vineyards and olive plantations, with the Adriatic shimmering all around, other islands, the mainland, and small towns and ruins whizzing by. We went out to one of the long ends of the island (Korcula town is on a peninsula that sticks straight out of one of the long sides of the island.) and took some photos of the beautiful clear blue water and then headed back to one of the beaches. We grabbed a bus in the direction that we needed and took off on our little journey. I was more looking forward to getting to the beach and relaxing but instead found myself in a view inspired heaven. ... brick road although this time I was looking for sand! We decided as long as we were heading towards the sea we were onto a winner! As we reached sea level we were greeted by a shallow stretch of sand, a couple of cafes and some sun loungers for rent. A complete contrast to Split which was surprising as Lumbrada is billed as Korcula’s main beach. You can rent sun loungers/umbrellas for 20 kunas each, a lot cheaper than Split.

... t you ever seen Bosnia?"

      "Of course not."

      "You need to."

      "You can't leave."

      "Not yet."

I look at them both, their faces suspended between a state of ironic banter and a deeper, almost wounded concern. Drele looks away, "After all, this is just beginning. You must stay."

"I wish I could, but, if I overstay my visa I might never be able to come back."

Vid sighs. "Okay, but not yet."
