We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

The guy seriously looked like he was about to play a round at Casa Blanca then pound some brews at Hal's. Or Rumors. I found a place to lie down in a booth in the dining area. Corfu was once a major entranceway into Greece but that is no longer the case, people in general backpack less than they used to, and due to Greece's economy more people are avoiding Greece. As a result of this, the crowds (and therefore the parties) are a ...

... yard! Then every time he went to turn a corner, the window wipers came on!!

Once we got out of the traffic though and started to climb the Mt, the driving became a lot easier. It was a beautiful trip to the old village of Sokraki, which was once deserted, but people are now slowly coming back to re-inhabit it. We passed oddles of olive trees on the way laden with fruit, which are due for harvest in November. Apparently Corfu was originally home to just pine ...
