Jardines 9, Casco Viejo Bilbao, Basque, Spain and Canary Islands, 48005, 34-944-794-210
I arrived in Bilbao and got the Biskaiabus to the Plaza Moyúa. From there I got the Metro to the Casco Viejo which is where my hotel was. When I came out of the metro station I saw one of the Kukuxumusu shops. They sell t-shirts with really cool designs. I bought one, an orange one with lots of sheep on I think. Anyway, after that I walked around trying to find my hotel. Eventually I found it and checked in.
Bilbao, Spain and Canary Islands rafamoroniOn Sunday I woke up at 10am. I then spent a while wandering round Bilbao looking for some breakfast. Eventually I found a café and bought a roll with some ham and cheese I think and mayonnaise on the top. Wasn't too bad. I then walked on the Zubizari and tried to find the nearest metro station. I think Moyua was the one I found. Anyway, due to the amount of time it took me to find it by the time I reached Portugalete the game had already kicked off. Luckily the scoreboard showed that noone ha...
Bilbao, Spain and Canary Islands rafamoroniAfter two days in the little town of Loarre, we moved on to the Rioja "wine country". We stopped for lunch in Haro, but then decided that we weren't going to stay there for the night. Haro was a pretty town (population ~9000), and while there was no reason to leave right away, there really wasn't much of reason to stay either. I bet that during the grape growing season the countryside would be beautiful, but now it was just OK. So we moved on to Bilbao, a town of about 400,000 people. We were...

... time to walk around Bilbao.
Wow! Bilbao is fantastic! It reminds me of Bogota, only cooler. It is surrounded by beautiful hills (unless you live in Texas, then they’re mountains!). You can almost smell the sea. We had a short nap after we checked in then got up and had lunch (we showed up at a bout 2:30 and the guy told us we were just a bit early for lunch, but he served us). Sure enough ...
We drove from Madrid, got a bit lost trying to find Lurdea. We thought it is a name of a village but it is not it is just the name of the Hotel/Casa Rural.
The place is amazing. Located in the hills above Bermeo, with magnificent view of the ocean. It is clean (like really clean) and has the air of a relaxing boutique hotel.
... br>With the nice tourist services in the place such as tourist guide, accommodation and transportation is more convenient a tourist-friendly place. Hoteles en Bilbao, restaurantes Bilbao, Bilbao car hire and other tourist services are one of the economic sources of the city.

... the Guggenheim I suggest the much cheaper lunch in the bistro, and today there certainly didn't seem to be the long queues I read about.
One dish on the tasting menu was described as "thoughts of lamb" - when they took my order they explained this was lambs brains, and checked I would be OK with the texture.
I started the day with a walk along the Nervion river from the Guggenheim to the Maritime ...

Bilbao, Basque, Spain and Canary Islands antoniusestrillUrghh long, long bus journey from Valencia. Sleeping tablets helped, but what didn't were the rude Spanish couple behind us who persisted on banging on the back of our seats all journey. They seemed angry that we were using the recline function which we had paid, and were entitled to use...
Anyway, arrive at about 8 or something where we got ...
