    ... cyclists for generations. A long, twisting descent took us past the ski station of La Mongie all the way down to the valley below. At the tiny village of Saint-Marie-de-Campan we turned back into the mountains, heading up to the next climb, the Col d’Aspin (1489m).     17.45hrs. Long journey from Lourdes some 290 miles. Crossed the border to Spain. Sad to leave France but excited at the same time to explore northern Spain. Driving through the Pyrenees was mind blowing. Ive never seen such greenery and surrounded by so many mountains and trees. Miles and miles of the most spectacular scenery. Photos just doesn't capture the beauty and splendour. What caught my attention was the clean fresh air mixed in with the wonderful smell ...

    ... for lunch. A very Basque town. They make a mean bacon sandwich.....and the cool part was 3 girls and 3 boys were playing on a stage that was set u. They were actually doing the local dances and making traditional music and signing. Was cool to watch no one was making them do it they were doing it on their own. After lunch we walked around the Basque village and it was cool and very old. We went to the church and wandered the streets for a bit taking ...

    ... It looked like it cut off Phil. So I am glancing in the mirror and I see the red car approaching fast. Martin had seemed to slow a bit to let everyone catch up a bit and I was seeing this car get bigger and bigger start closing in on Martin, then Martin rolled the throttle and we were off.
