... longer to rebuild the bridge in the 21st century than it did to build it in the 16th century. But on July 23, 2004, the new Old Bridge was inaugurated with much fanfare, and was immediately embraced by both the city and the world as a sign of reconciliation.” –Rick Steves

------------------------- ---------------------------------
If anyone is wondering about the war that took place in Bosnia, we typed up an excerpt from Rick Steves’ ...
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina mdaa... Bata drove and we were on our way. From the start it was apparent how passionate Bata was about telling his story of the war to people from around the world. He would drive to an area and stop the van and start expanding the history of the war. The war itself is very confusing and to this day a lot of people who were in it are still confused over it. Long story short from 1956-1984 the areas of Croitia, Bosnia, Belegrade, Mentengro, Serbia were all part of Yugoslavia (I may have ...
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina jesters09... her wrist at me with contempt when she delivered my change. Who cares. I had my bag and that was all that matters. She's probably been doing that job since Tito came to power, but I suppose it is a step above being the toilet matron. Maybe bag ***** and all the luxuries and entrapments associated with sitting in a hot wood box is a promotion. Who knows.

About four hours later we rolled into my destination of Mostar. Somehow everything just ...

Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina lindsey-canada... building that was in ruins, completely shattered from the shelling. I found out it was a bank building. i don't know what it is, but to see ruins of a modern building somehow spoke to me more than the architecturally classic buildings lined in front of me. While taking pictures of the destroyed glass building, something came over me, and I grew a pair. In defiance of every travel advisory, in every guidebook about this part of the world, I entered an abandoned building ...

Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina michlacToday was our last day in Mostar, having seen most of the sights we decided to catch a local bus to a nearby village that we read about in the guide book. After waiting for 45 minutes at the bus stop in very hot sun, us 6 girls gave up and decided to spend the day relaxing in Mostar. We had a long lunch, very tasty and local cuisine. It was a really nice restaurant, outdoor table in the shade ...
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina jcastellan... meg ti skritt i solen. Greit nok. Jeg undret meg en stund over hvorfor det selges tyrkiske souvenirer her. Men ...

I had no problems with anyone during the war, but it destroyed my life for good" At Majdas i met some Croatians, a German-Australian and two guys from London. It is a very cozy ...
Mostar, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina travel_chrisArrived in Mostar at around 11am after a scenic drive along the Dalmatian coast and were dropped off outside a church a short walk from the Old Town of Mostar. We spent the next 2 hours wandering around the streets of Mostar taking in the sights such as the Old Bridge, the Karadzozbeg Mosque and the war damaged buildings. At 1.30pm Tomislav drove us back to our hotel in Dubrovnik.
