          Salmon for dinner

A travel blog entry by lonnie.parker on Apr 22, 2015

Salmon is not the boys' favourite fish, but they did eat this one without complaint. Probably because it is quite bland, but tastes great with the home made salad dressing - olive oil, orange juice & zest, salt and pepper and a touch of balsamic vinegar.

Goes extremely well with the "proper" Pinot Gris from Alsace - salmon cooked in it ...

When we finally wake up & put up the electric shutter we discover it's 9:30am. Longest we have slept in on the trip. It's three weeks now, had a great time but it's not your relaxing resort style holiday. You literally are on your feet all day & night trying to see everything & waiting in lots of lines in the sun or rain. We realised on our journey to Nice that we needed some more relaxing days before Barcelona otherwise we can't keep the pace up. We ...

... probably would have said yes! We so badly wanted some authentic Italian cooking but we were never so fortuante. We left Florence the next day and headed to Italy's National Park, Cinque Terre. It consists of five small villages located on the side of cliffs that are about 3 KM apart of one another. It is a main tourist attraction in the summer months because there are hikes along the water that will take you to each village. One could also take the train that takes about two ...

... Another day trip took us to the little village of Eze. The main tourist site is the climb to the top of the old structures for a spectacular view of the ocean and towns. Too bad that it was not the clearest of days. Nothing you can do about that! The rest of the time has been spent relaxing, shopping, dining and of course drinking Wine! It is the last night here, so I will get this one off. The pictures of the Regatta, our coastal drive and Eze will have to ...

... We couldn't believe we were able to meet up. After sharing travel tales & lunch we departed & Ray , Kay & I climbed up another few hills along with a "few hundred" more steps & took in the sights of the Casino. It is ***********ceive the money that some people have! Needless to say we didn't have enough $$$ to go inside . Aaah well! Now back in Nice we three are all sitting with our feet up & the menthol rub is out to try & ease the pain of aching ...
