We rose early for another drive back up the spaghetti freeways toward LA, this time to check out the ever-popular Universal Studios. The weather was perfect AGAIN - around 28 to 30 degrees - and despite some classic LA traffic on the way, we arrived at Universal around 10.30am. These character even sign autographs! There are LOTS of unaccompanied adults around! That means they have no children. It got hot and I had a sinking feeling. Susan never wavered through the day. ... for Monday night. We got to thinking about the drive and home, and decided to see if we could change our reservations to Sunday night, leaving a day early from here. So we did, and the hotel could accommodate us for Sunday night. Mac and Josie were very glad to be leaving early – they are a bit homesick and really missing their friends and our pets.

Mark had found front row seats through Stub Hub, right down the third base line. Our first clue that things might be different was that they had taken down all the batting practice screens. No BP baseballs today. Groups of kids were walking the field and no players were to be seen.
