... my **** made me more than a little nervous.

When we got back to the house (which was incredibly amazing due mainly to a beer fridge and swimming pool) we were greeted with another couple of crates of beer from Tracy. If this wasnt amazing enough she then planned our route to Almeria, photocopied maps for us, gave us toiletries for the journey, cooked us an amazing Paella, and said we could contact her if there was any emergencies on route. What a hero.

Vera, Andalusia, Spain chris_jones01... friends). On our way there we stopped in a supermarket. Outside there was a german guy selling hot chickens and as a celebration of a good day we got a couple. Olly doesn´t normally splashout but he decided to get a whole one. After finishing his whole chicken he made a shocking/interesting/hilarious/disgusti ng/hilarious discovery. . . Maggots . . . about 6 or 7. Honestly, you should ...
Vera, Andalusia, Spain chris_jones01... and the Spainish.

Anyway, we were soon off the motor way and back on our loving country roads. The best thing about country roads is that there is always loads of fruit growing and today we managed to score some, normally expensive, melons! AWESOME. Definitely the best stolen fruit yet. But then we hit a serious mountain range, no clouds and a 40 degree heat. Honestly the ...
Águilas, Murcia, Spain chris_jones01... The prices are very reasonable. The most fantastic village was Mojacar. It is a white village up in the mountains and winds down into the sea. Each town has its own square and on weekends they have activities going on all the time. Please bring your own sun blocker. Even though in Spain it is labeled SP 30 it doesnt do anything and we ended up with sunburns. All in all it was worth it and we saw the Spain ...
Palomares,Vera, Garrucha, MoJacar, Andalusia, Spain must_travelI had to wean myseft away from the area, and the next day just drove a bit up the coast, past more un(der)-developed beaches at Escullos and El Playazo, and ended up staying in Las Negras, another fishing village which is sleepy by the water-front but with massive construction going on behind it.
Las Negras, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands travellerbruce... and bingo evenings, hairdressing in your home, in fact anything you could need to avoid speaking to a Spaniard. I'm sorry, but I have very little sympathy for most of these people. As anyone living on a pension in the UK will know, if you eat out two or three times a week, have a bottle of wine with every meal, have coffee out every morning, go out for a drink several times a week, the money soon ...
Garrucha, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands oldagetravellerSo, In the final minutes to off time, I'm writing to you all. Our first hiccup is reinforcing the ability to travel with Kids. They have both a blood father and me to put up with bless 'em and the whole thing is really complicated. Mum, Dad and Dads Mum have had to go too and fro to the notary (solicitor) to get countless pieces of paper stamped and approved for us to be able to take them out of this country and into another one... bloody crazy really. Lala ...
Arboleas, Spain capnconwayWell, last we wrote we were in Malaga, which we took at the time to be a somewhat relaxing beach resort. We thought we knew relaxation: boy were we wrong. We got here after an arduous journey consisting of two long bus rides along the Costa del Sol to Almeria and then through a lunar landscape of desertic mountains where the only major sign of human habitation were the old western film studios. The austerity of the terrain and the aspect of the few ...
Mojacar, Spain and Canary Islands tavini... Grenada, seems to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in europe. in the end we had to get up at 5 in the morning to join a queue already 30 strong at 6, the doors opèn at 8 and by that time there was hundreds of people. all the prebooked tickets were sold out for weeks ahead and they only released a limited amount of on the day tickets. probably more trouble than it was worth but by that stage we were quite stubborn -- we are here and we will see this bloody thing!!!
Murica coast and Granada, Spain ash_gauld... was the last to go. It was amazingly protected but the Muslim leader let the Christianos take it I guess because he did not want his people to die. The Muslims were not forced out of the city...yet. Carlos Quinto (the fifth) began the building of a palace paid for by "taxes" the Muslims paid to live in Granada. THe Muslims later realized this was bogus and stopped paying Carlos Quinto. They were THEN kicked out and ironically, Carlos Quinto never finished him palace because there ...
